How to Do Eyebrows? An Easy Guide

It can be really overwhelming to choose how to shape and style your brows because there are so many options.

Since no two brows are alike, everyone’s path to having ‘perfect’ eyebrows will be slightly different.

Having said that, I have a few broad hints, techniques, and hacks you can use to get there, such as:

Avoid Overplucking Your Eyebrows

I realized that leaving your brows alone is one of the simplest ways to achieve the best brows of your life.

Tweezers are a great tool for occasionally eliminating stray hairs, but they aren’t the ideal choice for creating defined eyebrows.

When using tweezers, it’s almost given that you will overpluck.

Over plucked brows

I advise to try to keep them well away from your eyebrow and to proceed with caution.

Simply pick off hairs that are out of position or farther out from your brow line; you don’t want to shape them.

Select the Appropriate Brow Products

There are a ton of options available when it comes to eyebrow cosmetics.

Having used so many products, I know that choosing the perfect one is crucial.

1. Consider your brow objectives

Use an angled brush and brow powder to add definition and fill in any sparse areas.

If you’re attempting to gently comb and shape your hair, apply a light coat of brow gel using a swipe motion.

2.Threading

The best technique for defining and enhancing your natural brow contour is threading.

Threading is quite exact, in contrast to waxing, which works well for vast sections of skin (such as your legs or bikini line).

Threading is essentially the process of gently extracting hair from follicles using twisted thread.

This technique is useful for removing hair that is too fine or short to be waxed.

Threading is eyebrow shaping technique

Additionally, threading applies pressure to the epidermis, which forces hairs to rise to the surface.

This can make it easier for them to be grabbed and extracted.

By the way, threading does take a certain level of competence.

Consulting a professional before attempting to do it yourself is usually a smart idea.

Use a Stencil for The Eyebrows

If applying eyebrow makeup freehand seems a little too difficult for you, consider utilizing an eyebrow stencil.

Stencil is simply a small template you can hold or adhere to your brows to keep your powder, pencil, or gel application inside the lines.

They have a huge variety of sizes and forms.

Apply Your Eyebrow Product by Flicking Them On

Avoid using too much product in one hefty stroke to fill in your brows.

The idea here is to create tiny, hair-like strokes to achieve the most realistic-looking effect.

Apply little flicking motions (with an angled brush or powder) in the direction of your hair growth.

Control the Tail of Your BrowsExcessively extending the tail of your brows  might make your face appear sad and depressed.Your eyebrows should stay at their natural starting position, which raises the outer corners of your face.

Find the required finishing point for the tail of your brow.

Then, position a brow pencil diagonally at your nostril and align it with the side of your eye.

The end of your eyebrow should terminate (or can be stretched to) where the pencil meets your brow bone without seeming artificial.

Construct A Convincing Arch

Excessively sharp curves make the face have a look of bewilderment or astonishment.

Consequently, draw a diagonal line in the middle of your eye with the brow pencil pressed up against your nose.

You can achieve this, if you want to create a small arch but were not born with one.

That’s the natural location for any arch.

Next, use a spoolie brush to aid with downward hair combing.

Next, use your preferred brow product (a pencil and a light hand are essential here).

Then, change the form of your brows to create a tiny peak where your natural arch is.

Finally, carefully massage the hairs in your brows back into place using a spoolie, making sure that the arch looks natural.

Make Your Eyebrows More Defined

By this, I refer to unshaped brow hairs that can really offer your face more structure with a little combing and shaping.

Make sure the majority of your brow hair falls within your natural brow shape.

This shape can create perfect arches, and tweeze any stray hairs that fall outside of it.

Apply Concealer, not Highlighter, Under Your Brows

Using highlighter to outline your brows may draw undue attention to your arches.

Instead, to brighten your brow area while maintaining a completely natural look.

Always use a concealer that is one shade lighter than your skin tone.

Apply Lightly at First, then Gradually Increase in Intensity

Build up your brows gradually because it’s usually easier to apply product than to take it away.

Another secret to having brows that are both natural and dark is brow mascara.

This you can softly stroke on for a more dramatic yet believable appearance.

This is your best bet if you’re just attempting to intensify the color of your brows generally.

Filling in a bald spot is another thing.

Start By Applying Product in the Middle of Your Brow

Start at the arch and work your way toward the bridge of your nose.

If you believe that the arches at the beginning of your brow are all that need to be raised.

In this manner, the application will appear more natural.

You’ll have the least quantity of product remaining when you get to the beginning of your brow.

Next, apply the identical product to the tip of your brow to prevent it from seeming uneven.

Ensure that the Colors of Your Product Always Blend In

Using a brow pencil, draw an angled line beneath the beginning of your eyebrow.

One of the most crucial elements in making arches look natural is this one.

Then, diffuse the pencil up into your brow using a spoolie brush.

It’s important to blend the pencil all the way through to avoid an overly harsh effect.

When filling in your brows, experiment with two different tones if you are having trouble getting your ideal shade.

Using the wrong color will give your brows an overly ‘done’ appearance.

Eyebrows Shaping Tools

The following is a list of equipment you’ll need for good grooming:

• A brush for eyebrows

To aid in accurate eyebrow application, look for an angled eyebrow brush.

It also, captures teeny-tiny rogue brow hairs like a genuine brow expert.

Eyebrows shaping tools

• Pencil for eyebrows

When filling in your brows, we’ve found that precision pencils are the finest tool for creating hair-like strokes that result in the most flawless yet natural-looking brows.

  • Gel for brow

You can choose between clear and colored brow gel.

In any case, when applying brow makeup, a high-quality brow gel is essential.

To quickly shape, smooth, tame, and tint your eyebrows, simply swipe the gel over your brow hair.

  • Brow Pomade or Powder

You have choices when it comes to brow development. Select a formula that you feel most comfortable with.

  • Highlighter

An excellent highlighter combines effortlessly, even with your fingers, and slides onto the brow bones to truly enhance and define the contour of your eyebrows.

Step by Step Eyebrow Application

Step 1:

Discover Your Shape

First, place one end against the outside of your nostril and the other end at the inner corner of your eye.

The front of your eyebrow should start at this point.

Using your brow pencil, mark the location with a small dot, and then go over the other brow.

After that, align the brush’s tip with your pupil.

Your ideal arch should be situated where the brush meets your brow.

Apply another dot of your brow pencil to it, then go back and do same on the other eye.

Finally, shift the brush’s top to the outer corner of your eye while keeping the bottom near your nostril.

This is the final point on your perfect brow form. Put a dot on it and do the same on the other brow.

Once your brows are outlined, simply connect all the dots.

Step 2:

Time to tweeze, Exercise caution

It’s time to use your tweezer to remove any hairs that fall outside of your ideal brow shape now that you’ve discovered it.

You can skip this step completely if you want a bushier brow contour.

Using the edge of your tweezers, locate the root of the hair you want to pluck, then pull in the direction of the growing hair.

Watch out for stray hairs that are visibly above or below your arches; you can use tweezers on those.

You can also tweeze stray hairs from the area on the upper bridge of your nose, which is located between your eyes.

When tweezing, make sure to alternate between the two eyebrows and quickly check yourself in the mirror after each pluck to maintain their evenness.

Naturally, exercise caution when plucking and try not to get too attached to the tool.

So, keep in mind that you can always go back if you find another stray.

If you end up overplucking; it will be much more difficult (and take longer) for your brow hairs to grow back.

Step 3:

Dust off the hair and take out your brow gel

The easiest method for perfectly styled eyebrows I have used? using brow gel, without a doubt.

Applying eyebrow gel is incredibly quick and simple.

If you’re in a hurry or want to go completely makeup-free, you can even stop here.

Make sure the spoolie end is evenly covered with gel.

Then, remove the mascara-like spoolie brush from the brow gel pick’s tube.

Just wipe a small bit on the tube’s edge if the wand appears clumpy.

If it appears too bare, pump it into the tube one more time.

Next, begin brushing from the inner or middle corner of your brows.

Work your way upward and out from the base of the brow hairs.

The gel will smooth down any straggling hairs and help you keep your shape.

A clear brow gel looks really clean and natural, a tinted brow gel will help produce some color and a firmer brow shape.

Step 4:

Use Flicking Motion to Build Your Brow up

To build your eyebrows, starting in the center of your brow, lightly flick the pencil upwards in short, hair-like strokes to fill in any gaps or bare areas.

To replicate the small hairs that make up your brows, try to hold the pencil softly and apply a little pressure.

Pressing down too firmly can result in thick, blocky pigment.

It’s usually easier to start drawing in your eyebrows at the bottom.

Close the roots of your hair, and work your way upward, to resemble the natural growth of your eyebrow hairs.

Feel free to add more after you’ve filled in all the empty spaces to achieve the desired richness and definition.

Use a shade of eyebrow powder or pomade that complements the color of your brows to finish the appearance.

Choose products that are one or two shades lighter than your eyebrow color for makeup that looks natural.

Apply sparingly; if you want a bolder brow, you can always go back and add another layer.

Additionally, bear the following additional advice in mind while you shape and fill in your brows:

  • Check that the arch isn’t extremely pointed. Use a spoolie or brow brush to blend it out if it starts to seem too noticeable.
  • Avoid overextending the tail of your brows, since this might give your face a sagging or exhausted appearance.
  • Do not forget that your eyebrows should typically stop at the outside corner of your eye (see step 1 for a reminder of this precise location).
  • Sharp angles and lines can occasionally make your eyebrows appear overdone, but if this occurs, don’t worry; it’s generally the result of using too much makeup.

To repair it, just use a spoolie brush to gently buff it out or a Q-tip dipped in makeup remover to erase and rebuild that area.

Step 5:

Apply Highlighter to Sharpen the Look

Use a highlighter to draw attention to the effort you just put into your brows.

Highlighter applied above and below your arch can define and form your brows.

Then just use your ring finger to mix it in.

Apply concealer as a fast touch-up if you see any smudges around your brows.

Don’t forget that experimentation and practice are essential, as in most things.

There isn’t just one ‘correct’ eyebrow style, so experiment until you discover the look or looks that you adore.
